After working for The Howard Ricketts Gallery and Christopher Lennox Boyd Fine Prints I turned my attention to the skill of Japanese print making. Although the majority of my prints are 100 years old the clean lines and the geometric shapes at times appear to be contemporary.  I spent many years visiting galleries and museums in London and Paris learning about Japanese prints.

Every aspect of life is considered in the Japanese print ranging from theatre, battle scenes, love and courtship, fashion, respect and love of nature. Each artist had his own passion and this is reflected in the prints being offered. Sometimes the style is restful and reflective with the glory of the geisha and the beautiful movement of the kimono. The samurai is presented with his fearless stance and quest for honour and victory. The prints may adorn the walls of a traditional home but look equally good in a more modern interior.

If you are hoping to start out collecting Japanese prints then I would be pleased to advise you. Maybe you wish to add to treasures you already own. Perhaps you would like to buy a special present for somebody. There is always a subject which appeals to each individual.
